Aeropress

Home brewing coffee guide.  How to make a perfect coffee using an aeropress.  Guidleines to timing, equipment needed and dosage.  

RoMo Aeropress

You will need 

An aeropress, 16g of coffee beans (two large spoons), 250ml of filter water, kettle, filter paper, scales, grinder, cup

  1. Boil the kettle
  2. Weigh 18g of beans, if you don't have scales you can use a coffee measuring spoon
  3. Grind the beans to a texture of coarse sand (if you buy pre-ground coffee use filter coffee)
  4. Soak filter paper in hot water
  5. Place filter paper in the cap 
  6. Invert the aeropress
  7. Put the ground coffee in the aeropress
  8. Then slowly pour in the hot water until 3/4 full.  Ideally the water should be 80-83°, if you don't have a thermometer boil the kettle and wait approx 3 minutes
  9. Stir for 10 seconds and then leave it to brew for 30 seconds
  10. Inset plunger
  11. Heat cup
  12. Invert aeropress onto cup and gently push the aeropress down
  13. Coffee will be strong so dilute it 1 part coffee to 2 parts water
  14. Sit down relax and enjoy
